HR Hot Topics: November, 2020: Refocusing amid Election Stress, COVID Spikes & Onset of Flu Season

November 11, 2020

Hello Leaders! Welcome to the November edition of HR Hot Topics - a monthly video message from me, Jodi Schafer, that contains employment law updates and human resources tips to make you the most effective leader you can be.  We strive for this to be the 'most informative 5 minutes of your month'!

We filmed this month’s episode on Friday of last week…holding off as long as possible in the hopes of knowing the outcome of our presidential election.  Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.  The uncertainty and stress that people are feeling right now in the wake of this only serves to compound the general fear and anxiety that living and working in a pandemic has caused.  Sprinkle in the start of flu season and the reality of limited holiday celebrations and you’ve got a recipe for distress (and copious alcohol consumption 😉).  So, in this month’s video I provide a few practical things that you CAN control!  Refocus and recommit to safety protocols, update your COVID Preparedness & Response plans to comply with the most recent guidance, encourage or mandate the flu shot and have proactive conversations with your team about responsible choices outside of the workplace.

As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach me directly via email at JodiSchafer@workwithHRM.com.  To learn more about our consulting service and training opportunities, spend some time on our company website at www.workwithHRM.com, our YouTube channel and our online training portal, www.hrhazmat.com.
